Growing Older, Losing Time & Velour Jumpsuits

There comes a time in our lives when based on averages we start to recognize time grows short. It begins to seep in to our daily consciousness and then as friends, family and people in general begin to leave our lives as they pass away, the conscious thought becomes a lifestyle change. It begins to mold and direct our hopes, dreams and daily interactions. We begin to shed the societal cloak of who others want us to be and start thinking outside the boundaries of what “would they want” and we start playing the game on our terms. Velour jumpsuits suddenly become our go-to attire. Why? Because who gives a shit!

We’re not going be shamed into the “proper” attire from some snot nosed young Gen-something’er who’s living someone else’s life and mimicking the appropriate social character regaled in the latest social media.

Some things become less important while others catapult to the top of our list.  We start to “unfret” the small stuff as it becomes trivial while we watch the younger generations and even our own generation complain and moan about things that in the grand scheme of things shouldn’t mean much.

But How do you not give a shit about anything but stand up for something?

Perhaps as we get older we are  humbled and realize there are certain things in life that matter and others that merely sap tranquility and happiness. We must give less of a shit to some things, wear the  velour jumpsuit and focus and stand up for the things that matter
