Memorial Day Reminder

Me·mo·ri·al Day/məˈmôrēəl ˌdā/noun

a day on which those who died in active military service are remembered, traditionally observed on May 30 but now officially observed on the last Monday in May.

For many it is the unofficial start of summer in the North. Packed with parades, road races and cookouts. But, for some it’s a somber reminder of fallen and lost loved ones. While we enjoy our activities let’s not forget those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for us to be able to safely and comfortably spend time with family and friends.

So, let’s take a moment to remember those gone before us, fighting for our right to live free; and, let’s be there for those still here that have lost loved ones.

A Deeper Meaning of LiFE…

Pocomo Head, Nantucket

So, we guess it’s time to find out what this thing is all about. “A tiny company with a big idea” – boy that’s really thinking big!. “Own it, Live it, Love it“- well, we own it so that’s good, we love it; another plus…but, are we living it?!. I’m not sure. Let’s travel back in time and review our founding principles which we’ve incorporated in our website in “The Story

We mention working for someone else’s dream and being perched (and toiling) behind a computer, strapped to a desk. Uh-oh. But sometimes, working for someone else’s dream is also a long road to your own dream. LiFE gets in the way. Kids, pets, college and family start to take precedence over that dream. But at no time is the dream extinguished; it’s kept on the back burner to simmer while LiFE runs its course; until it is time to turn up the heat. During this simmering phase, all is not lost and it’s not time wasted; as images, dreams and ideas are constantly permeating the mind.

One of our founding principles was to get people to recognize the moment of NOW and just simply live in it. Forget about yesterday and stop worrying about tomorrow. You’re only stealing energy away from enjoying the moment you’re in currently.

But is that enough? We don’t think so. We, as a community, are able to focus our energy at living life to the fullest; but there are those who by choice or by circumstance are either fighting for our lives or fighting for their own. We are able to live freely without worry because of those who selflessly give of themselves to protect our freedoms. Then there are those who are fighting for their own lives; either due to illness or tragedy. We thought both deserved recognition and help. Please consider donating or volunteering to help others (helpful links on homepage). You’ll be glad you did. Perhaps you’ll find a deeper meaning of life.
