Independence…a word worth fighting for

It’s been a long time since we’ve read the Declaration of Independence. Nearly 250 years ago the document was penned, signed and a call for independence was unfurled upon the world. This was not done lightly or without thought; as they knew that such a call came with the knowledge it would need to be defended and continuously fought for. This still holds true today.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

A stated belief of equal beings and absolute Rights with a common purpose of Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. Simple, to the point. It is interesting that Rights, Life, Liberty and Happiness were so important to the authors, they capitalized them to ensure they were not looked upon lightly. And, Happiness (in this legal document) is mentioned twice!! Who are we to argue with the founding fathers. Let us forge ahead in our pursuit of Happiness.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.

Pretty powerful stuff if you ask us. In order to maintain the state of independence they pledged their lives and honor, and staked their fortunes on the declaration. Let us not do anything less in our continued fight to be independent in ourselves and our country. Celebrate the 4th of July for our unalienable right of independence forged in 1776. And let’s be absolute in our fight for our own independence and free thought.

Time is fleeting but the unalienable Rights of Life and Happiness remain for us to continuously and mindfully seek.

Please don’t take that lightly, march on every day toward Life, Liberty and Happiness…after all, it’s the law.

A Deeper Meaning of LiFE…

So, we guess it’s time to find out what this thing is all about. “A tiny company with a big idea” – boy that’s really thinking big!. “Own it, Live it, Love it“- well, we own it so that’s good, we love it; another plus…but, are we living it?!. I’m not sure. Let’s travel back in time and review our founding principles which we’ve incorporated in our website in “The Story

We mention working for someone else’s dream and being perched (and toiling) behind a computer, strapped to a desk. Uh-oh. But sometimes, working for someone else’s dream is also a long road to your own dream. LiFE gets in the way. Kids, pets, college and family start to take precedence over that dream. But at no time is the dream extinguished; it’s kept on the back burner to simmer while LiFE runs its course; until it is time to turn up the heat. During this simmering phase, all is not lost and it’s not time wasted; as images, dreams and ideas are constantly permeating the mind.

One of our founding principles was to get people to recognize the moment of NOW and just simply live in it. Forget about yesterday and stop worrying about tomorrow. You’re only stealing energy away from enjoying the moment you’re in currently.

But is that enough? We don’t think so. We, as a community, are able to focus our energy at living life to the fullest; but there are those who by choice or by circumstance are either fighting for our lives or fighting for their own. We are able to live freely without worry because of those who selflessly give of themselves to protect our freedoms. Then there are those who are fighting for their own lives; either due to illness or tragedy. We thought both deserved recognition and help. Please consider donating or volunteering to help others (helpful links on homepage). You’ll be glad you did. Perhaps you’ll find a deeper meaning of life.

All Human – All Same

All Human – All Same

It seems the smaller the world gets the more divisive we become.

When did we forget the most important ingredient in this global melting pot is that we are All Human; and we are All the Same.

Take for example the photo above; you can tell there are humans in the photo but you can’t tell their religion, race, financial status or beliefs; only that they are humans. It makes sense that we should see the world through the same silhouette-type glasses. No filters for sexual preference or beauty, but seeing people as they are; Human.

We’re only on this rock for a very short time; be good to others, have fun and enjoy the ride.

For this reason we created 2 new designs to help get the word out – All Human / All Same

Be careful what you listen to

“Like” has become a word we no longer “Like”! 

Let us explain.

Have you listened lately to dialogue and conversation you hear around you.  Does it sound like someone is always talking or the conversation never seems to have an end?  Well it could be from that little four letter word everyone is using these days.  No, not FÜ©λ (get your mind out of the gutter!). 

It’s that word “Like”.  Let’s take a look at an example of the length of time it now takes to state the same point. 

First off, using “like”

Like the other like day we were like walking to the bus, and like you know we like took the bus to like this cool store where they like had this giant like Ferris wheel that like lit up when it like went around.  Like, you know what like I mean? Like, I’ve never seen like some-like-thing that like does that!

Secondly, “normal” conversation

The other day we were walking to the bus, and we took the bus to this cool store where they had a giant Ferris wheel that lit up when it went around.  You know what I mean?  I’ve never seen something that does that!

That’s better!  Shorter conversation that says the same thing. 

We’re sorry for bringing this to your attention; although it does appear to be an epidemic (you can thank us for this public service announcement – or not).  It’s likely going to haunt you from here out.  Now that you’re aware of it you’ll hear it in coffee shops, at home, at work and in school.  Careful, you may even hear it coming from your mouth.  You are what you listen to.  So…
